Mail Art IN - Italy, Lorella Castagnini

From Italy, this envelop with fabric and stamps. The postal stamps and do-it-yourself stamps.

Nice handpainted kite with tassels (frutsels), lace and ribbon.
What a good idea for using.

And here's a detail of the 'melange coloured' yarn with paint.
Love the yarn.
It's great fun to do cross stitch with them as well.
You never know what you gonna get ;)

Thank you, Lorella

Mail Art IN - The Netherlands, Ruud Janssen

It's always an honour to receive Mail Art from Ruud Janssen, the founder of IUOMA:
International Union Of Mail Artists.
Ruud collects prints of stamps.
He has a huge archive with sheets of stamps
provided by whoever is invited by Ruud to fill the blank sheets.

This time I did fill some sheets and I am amazed about how many stamps I have!
Could / should use them more often ;)
Great selfies of Ruud are included plus
funny stickers and of course Mail Art with unique stamps.
This parcel gives me lots of ideas to make something.

Thank you, Ruud

Doodle in Moleskine #1

Since a couple of years I carry around a small notebook so I can do doodles while waiting or having a coffee somewhere.

A friend gave me this BIG moleskine and the motivation to fill it with big doodles.
Felt a bit daunted because of all those empty sheets though.
So it took me more then a year and lots of visits to Pinterest for inspiration to get started.

(PS: do you know Pinterest? It's a great site to start the day with! You feel creative at once)

Mail Art IN - Sweden, Eraser Heed

Mega BIG envelop from Sweden.
Inside: handwritten friendly note and little wrapped up something.

WYSIWYG
(what you see is what you get!)
It's the stamp that also shows on the envelop.
My cats also liked the tiny piece of wood. It's is now safely hidden in the IUOMA-box.

Thank you, Eraser Heed

Intuitive Painting with Earth Colours

Some weeks ago I did a workshop Intuitive Painting, given by Mine Yapar from Earth Colours.
As paint we used natural pigments (powder) mixed with egg yokes.
I can't remember whether I used a brush,
what I do remember is I was painting with my hands.

It was great fun.
Swinging music, painting without 'paying attention',
using different layers of paper. Really good.

In a museum I prefer looking at abstract art
rather than observing the grumpy grey faces of 'important' persons. And I always wonder how does the artist know the painting is finished?
Well, when I was producing my blue painting, I just did!

Mail Art IN - USA, Spopod

Doodle kind of town with pencil shading plus nice Great Mail Art wishes for 2015.
Spopod tries to catch up with sending Mail Art... something most Mail Artists 'struggle' with ;)

Thank you, Spopod
